Pine Mountain Fire Department Schedules BBQ

The Pine Mountain Fire Department will be holding its 17th annual Memorial Day BBQ on Saturday, May 29.

Held in Askew Park in Pine Mountain, the annual BBQ is the fire department’s major fundraising event conducted each year. Askew Park is located on Gardensview Drive, with easy access from US Hwy. 27.

Beginning about 10:45 a.m., pork BBQ plates will be available that includes side items and tea. Historically, the BBQ plates sell out very quickly so area residents are urged to arrive early.

Limited seating will be available at Askew Park and visitors are urged to bring blankets and enjoy a family picnic under the trees in the park.

Fire trucks and other emergency equipment will be on display during the BBQ.

The Pine Mountain Fire Department is an all-volunteer agency and anyone interested in joining can contact any of the firefighters or call city hall at 706-663-2213.
