On Sunday, April 4, Pine Mountain firefighters responded to the
report of an overturned vehicle on Ga. Hwy. 354, just east of the
city limits.
The Pine Mountain Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at
5:05 p.m.
Firefighters on Squad 12 arrived on the scene at the same time as a
Harris County EMS unit to find an overturned Chevrolet S10 Blazer on
its roof, blocking one lane of the roadway. Engine 1202 arrived on
the scene moments after Squad 12.
With no smoke or fire showing, firefighters began assisting with
patient assessment and immediate medical care.
A young couple and infant baby, all of the Warm Springs area, were
in the Blazer at the time of the accident and had exited the SUV
prior to arrival of EMS and Pine Mountain firefighters.
Patient assessments were conducted on all three occupants of the
SUV.
Both adults were treated at the scene and transported to Columbus.
Securely restrained in a car seat, the child was determined
uninjured and was left in the care of other family members.
Also responding to the accident were the Georgia State Patrol,
Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies and DNR Rangers from F.D. Roosevelt
State Park. |
