Shortly after 10:30 p.m., Saturday, November 1, Pine Mountain
firefighters were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Nelson
Road in which a Jeep Cherokee had crashed into the woods.
Squad 12 and Quint 1201 were dispatched to the scene and arrived to
find the smashed Jeep inside the trees, but no victim.
Blood was found inside the vehicle as was a child’s car seat.
A quick search of the immediate vicinity failed to locate a victim.
Harris County EMS and Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene.
It was subsequently determined that a passing motorist had picked up
the driver and taken him to a nearby house. The victim was located
and had suffered visible injuries during the accident. No child had
been in the Cherokee at the time of the accident.
The patient was treated at the scene and transported to the Columbus
Medical Center.
