Squad 12
Squad 12 is a Chevrolet C2500 3/4-ton service body truck.
This truck was originally a BellSouth service truck and was donated to the Pine Mountain Fire Department when the truck reached 100,000 miles. The truck was reconditioned and painted by the late Lamar Railey, of Hamilton.
Though it does not carry a pump or any water, Squad 12 carries sufficient equipment to be recognized as a service truck by the Insurance Services Office, or ISO. Squad 12 also carries Basic Life Support equipment. This unit is first-out responding to critical medical incidents and motor vehicle accidents with injuries. This serves to save fuel that would otherwise be required to operate Quint 1201 or Engine 1202.
Because it is smaller, more maneuverable, and can arrive quicker, Squad 12 is often first-out to structure fires. This provides a quicker size-up and the unit can serve as an Incident Command vehicle.
This truck is owned by the Town of Pine Mountain.
